Scream
There’s nothing under the bed.
That’s just the branches hitting the window.
The floor boards are ancient and creak when you and I breathe.
The brown stains used to be a bright brilliant red.
The thick dust can attest to that.
Stay close. Hold my hand. Feel the warmth or the lack thereof.
Don’t go in there.
That’s not my shadow.
