Scream at Me
Dear Earth,
How do you feel about me?
So focused in the hustle
that I forget who I am.
Eating your creations with pride.
Carving into your body.
Taking all that makes you beautiful
your innocence, color, your voice
Demanding more.
Taking more.
Taking you.
I’m apart of a world who dreams and pretends
That they have nothing to do with you.
That you are inferior and only alive to give
So we take
Without remembering that we are you.
Can you love?
I ask
Can you love?
I rip you
Strip you
Rob you
But
Do you still love me?
Can you speak?
Are you telling me to stop?
Am I yours?
Mom?
I belong to a society
That thinks you are only alive to give
So we take
Without knowing she, her, him, he
we
are you
Mother Earth, scream out your name
So we all can hear you.
Find our blood is connected to your oceans
Our skin is connected to your soils,
Our heart is connected to your core,
Our souls are connected to the murder of all your children.
We are responsible for it all.
All of it.
We
Are
You.
