A Scream In The Night

You captured me as
I lie in bed awake.

Praying to the Lord,
my soul to take.

I tried to scream,
but I was too scared.

You took me outside
in that cold winter's air.

You asked if I had
anything else to say,

Because you were about
to throw my life away.

As you held the gun
up to my head,
I knew that I was soon to be dead.
