Screaming Silently

No I didn’t know how to take it That late night when we had that talk I had so many questions, wanted to understand Didn’t want to believe, what you just really said to me I close my eyes and try to shut it out No I won’t lose my control Wasn’t going to let you know How much that it really hurt and still does now And in the darkness of the night I turn on my radio to cover up the sound Of that moment crashing down Playing over and over Not going to let anyone see Every tear on my face Falling down on each and every memory No I don’t go to sleep, I’ll only see you in my dreams Smiling back at me at what we used to be I scream silently I weathered the storm Of those last few days took it all and tried put on a brave face Wasn’t going to let you see me cry And even though the silence is deafening I’m still listening and I find myself still reaching out On that very last day, that day you walked away I was shaking in my shoes, trying to not let you see Just how much this was killing me With downcast eyes, I cannot meet your gaze Won’t let you see my face Cause one tear has broken free, and it’s going to leave a trace As I watched you walk the other way, with no words to say Part of me is running after you and part of me is running away And in the darkness of the night I turn on my radio to cover up the sound Of that moment crashing down Playing over and over and over Not going to let anyone see Every tear on my face Falling down on each and every memory No I don’t go to sleep, I’ll only see you in my dreams Smiling back at me at what we used to be I scream silently Soon that day When I remembered the day you came With no one around Has so much time really been nothing to you So I scream silently With the silence from you I can’t take it anymore I’ve crashed, I’m done, I can’t wait out, I’m breaking down I can hear, the sound of my heartbreak So I scream So I scream Drowning out each and every memory I’ve fallen and shattered like glass You couldn’t see through me But now you can Not holding on, I’m letting go No longer silently No longer silently
