Screaming Swifts

Part 1

Screaming swifts scythe their way

Steadily and stealthily through the sky

Like those simple farmers of the olden time

That waded through the never ending expanse

Through the never ending swathes of barley, wheat and hay

Like those simple farmers, who's ways and means

Whose message of tradition in his field

And, indeed in that of many others

By way of the type of pastime and career

Of which values have briefly endured the sea of years

By means to reach fulfillment of the heart, soul and the spirit

Which the determined tide has finally filled the void and touched the brim

Both the brim, of the end of the old world

And the other, the beginning of the new.
