The Scribblings of a Madman

I lock my bedroom door at night

Well… I don’t

I would say it’s the ticking in the back of my head

It’s like a virtually unstoppable clock

Like the tapping of fingernails

And I really just want it to stop

See the ticking in the back of my head makes me lock my bedroom door at night

It makes me lock my bedroom door at night because I try to make it silent

I hope and pray the silence will become maddening

But the ticking in the back of my head is my own personal insanity

Because the ticking in the back of my head always finds a way to get through to me

The ticking in the back of my head makes me lock my bedroom door

And when I lock my bedroom door, I’m sealed away of the outside

Inside my room is darkness, where the ticking in the back of my head resides

That’s where it shows me that it’s home is quite alive

See the ticking in the back of my head locks my bedroom door at night to show me all it’s friends

Each one bigger and worse than the boogeyman

Because the boogeyman has claws like daggers but the monsters that lurk in the dark have swords

The monsters that lurk in the dark are vicious, only out for blood

And the ticking in the back of my head creates a massive flood

I fear the monsters that lurk in the night because my bedroom door is locked

And now I’m stuck there wondering when my time will come.

They’re coming!

They’re here!

They’ve got me!

Oh God!

Oh wait, no they don’t, because the ticking in the back of my head needs me for another show

My mind goes in circles

Or maybe it’s a figure eight?

No, it’s an unrecognizable web of insanity

But it isn’t my insanity…

It’s the ticking in the back of my head that locks my bedroom door at night to show me all it’s friends that have claws as big as swords

Now that I’m thinking about it, maybe it was their fangs that were like swords?

I mean picking things up with sword like claws would have to be difficult.

Yeah, maybe it was fangs!

Oh no, I’m getting off topic… Now where was I? Oh yes!!!

See the show that the ticking wants me for, is the memories of my past

When I think of all the days that I wished would be my last

See the kids, they liked to tell me how much I weigh

See the kids, they really love to call me Closet Gay

See the kids, they had no mercy

They poked and prodded and cursed me

And now I’m stuck in my room with my bedroom door locked because the ticking in the back of my head wanted darkness so it could show me all it’s friends

Oh God, please somebody make this end

Because the monsters have claws, NO FANGS, maybe both? Like swords

And all they want is a very detailed tour

They want to see my stomach turn and my organs bleed

My heart stop beating and me beg and plead

But the ticking in the back of my head needs me for another day

So as I rest my weary head, it tells it’s friends to go away…

And yes, as always, after all the monster’s leave…

I lock my Bedroom door at night
