The Scribe
One must not let themselves be contained by mere fibers and faint lifeless lines-
I can do better than the certainty of restrictions.
I can choose to end things precisely when I choose to, because I am the ibis and I own the world, for I own my words.
I have always desired this sweet power, as a poor abandoned hatchling.
This is mine- all I know, but I embrace the ink and page, and soak in the sentiment.
It loves me, like the embrace of a beloved spouse- it is my bride and I own the moon, my silvery light.
They keep me company in the cold night, as I devote my life to my loving letters and curled cursive script.
This is beauty and I possess it in the most magnificent of ways.
I dance in the water- I shall never die for I know all and write to preserve myself.
And it does. I am eternal, immortal, incredible. The Majestic Ibis.
