scruffy
You were so sweet
ready to be
loved by no else
except by me
The door opened wide
you were free
but you ran only to me.
Your tail wagging fiercely
you were happy as could be
knocking me down
only to lick me.
You were the one, only for me
and you changed my life by loving me.
You needed a home, that was true.
But who needed who most
me or you?
