The Sea
O sea, spring of life,
Bed of calm and strife,
Blue and brown and gray,
There in night and day,
You who hold treasures
Unseen and unheard,
Seen and heard and good.
Your currents have flowed through
All times, new and old,
With your waves, either
Large walls or graceful
Ripples. Your effect
Is always calm and soothing,
Like a rose in twilight.
You, amorphous one,
Ever changing ever still,
Forever, still.
Now, gazing upon your perpetuity from the fated shores,
We must conquer,
We must dance.
