The Sea
gigantic
living
mass of breathing
water
an animal
that seperates
and connects
people around the world at the same time
the great deep entices me
cold seductress
1 dive into her icy embrace
I skim across the surface
on slabs of wood
her mystery gives me purpose
I see my reflection chasing me
the salty air
makes me free
endless blue
when all else is suspect
she makes life true
the prospect of creatures unimaginable
whole worlds beneath
the glass
a passing gull
speeding past
laughter echos off still
mirror mornings
the sun sizzles into luke-warm soup
world ablaze
waters dazzle with oatmeal mornings
and lamp lit nights
as the sound of her voice
lures fishermen to their last light
