Into the sea of me

Escape into the sand scape, the welcoming land scape

As you ran with your little legs, hitting gently against the sand

Through a flock of seagulls

Laughing as you parted them like the red sea

Something about the way the sun hit mom and dad's face as they watched from nearby

Illuminating smiles that would not stand the test of time

The beach feels different now

The sand is different now too,

Like a weight

One that's work and comfortable

The way that nothing is anymore

Memories of the different time are exhausting

Running takes too much work

Sinking in the sand though,

It hugs you in a way no one does anymore

And you can let go and close your eyes in peace

And let go of all your tired troubles

And just sink.
