A Sea of my Own Origin

If I were to lose you

I’d lose my being

I would no longer thrive

My life I would be fleeing

My joy would evaporate

Alcohol dripped on the street.

I’d fall to the depth

I’d dwell at my feet

They’d be soaked in the sea

Of my own origin

I’d be crushed and torn

Like a violated virgin.

I honestly can’t conceive

And idea so bleak

Never let it happen

Or another state of mind I seek

I need you dearly

It’s obvious as the sun to see

I need you like a heart

Pulsing life through me.
