The Sea of Pages

A river of words flows endlessly

Over the stones and wreckage of our lives
Scraping a little off the top.

With every syllabic thought,
We pitiful mortals
Try to describe ourselves.

Little particles -
Hope, shame, love, regret.
Shadows coalesce
To form a current of pages
Washing down the stream of consciousness
Into the sea of nightmares and dreams.

Tides wash ashore the truths.
Shining pearls gleaned from a single grain
Reflect the eternity of ages
Suddenly wiithin the grasp of our immortal souls.
