in search of a soft corner
In search of a soft corner.
Since morning I was roaming in the city,
Alas, I got tired, no one felt on me pity,
I went onward, I went backward,
I climbed up the hill to go upward,
I even jumped in the well to go downward
Though it was not easy but little hard,
Alas I couldn’t find for me, any ward,
Since night was falling, it was dark,
I sat on a bench in the corner of a park,
A dog was there, that disliked intruders,
To make me out of there, it began to bark,
I was quite healthy and honest,
So I couldn’t get any ward to rest,
I was thinking of my fate,
I thought I was lazy a little late,
To bring fortunes to my gate,
I couldn’t win love, but only hate,
If I were sick, I might be in a hospitals ward,
If I were a thief, I might be in a prison's ward,
If I had fallen and broken my limb,
Someone would have taken me to an emergency ward,
There are in the city, some sweet corners,
But I couldn’t find here any soft corner,
The city welcomes with joy and fun,
But only those with money, not a poor one,
Sweet smell arising out of dishes,
Fried chicken and fried fishes,
Restaraunts were full of food,
But for poor there was no food,
The city was busy with hustle and bustle,
I felt pain in my tired muscle
People were walking with sweet heart,
Alone I was there with my broken heart,
I wished I could spent that night on a street,
But the constable there made me to leave,
It was a strange city, I was a stranger,
The people thought that I was a danger.
I wished I had gone to wood,
It was for me rather good,
A hungry lion had devoured me there,
A better treatment I couldn’t get here.
