Searching
All my life I've been searching for it,
I want it, I crave it.
The comfort of getting that "Call me when you get home," text.
Knowing that I can rely on someone, that they'll give me the same support I give to them.
So far things have been one sided, and I know real love isn't like this,
And so I keep waiting for it,
Of having moments where I know, I'm not the only one who is head over heels in love.
I thnk we all have endured people who have drained us,
Emotionally, physically, financially,
But I know going through all of this will eventually lead me to something better.
I know I'm on my way towards someone
Who looks at me with the same love in their eyes.
Who won't take my kind and generous heart for granted, and treats me and my body with the respect I know it deserves.
I'm still searching.
