searching

i’m still searching far and wide

for someone who has always been beside me

you are here

but i don’t know your face yet

i hope that i soon will discover

the beauty in your face when you find something you love

the things that make your eyes light up like dazzling sparklers in the night

the liberating way that your lungs fill as the sea swells

the way your mind calms and empties itself as your eyes close to rest

i want to find your beauty in myself because

your heart has always been locked inside of my chest.
