Searching for Inspiration
"Where do you find inspiration?" I ask looking up in awe.
They shrug, "It just comes to me", but they lie.
I used to sit there, staring at the screen,
waiting for inspiration that never came.
Now I realize what I did wrong,
inspiration doesn't come you had to find it all along.
In the largest of buildings and deep underground,
inspiration is hiding, waiting to be found.
Sometimes, it's not exactly what you had in mind,
so you let go of the idea for another to find.
Inspiration can be elusive, stealthy, and smart
But you'll be able to find it if you follow your heart.
So open your sketchbook, take out your pen,
and look for inspiration whereever you can.
