"The Seas of Reality"

Sailing through the seas of reality Treading the darkest of waters Away from the shores of pure fantasy But afraid to sail much farther Lying in the way is a trench A void within in my own heart It contains the opportunities I must clench That life will rarely impart A gaping hole that will not cease Providing my fear and sorrow Only love can lead my mind into peace The dawning of a gold tomorrow Where may I find love in a world with an edge With hearts colder than the depths of the ocean But love for myself I might be able to dredge From my lingering which will remain in motion It will never completely vanish It cannot fully be tamed I have yet to obtain the strength to banish The burdens that I have claimed It is a futile effort to comprehend Why I have been greeted with loneliness Discovering love can make amends Until then I will not sail but sink into emptiness
