Seashore
The sun beats down on my uplifted face,
the waves crash below on my curling toes.
The seagulls soar through the sky on the wings of grace,
the salty air fills my being as the gentle breeze blows.
The sand is hot beneath my tired feet,
the sky is crisp and clear.
My soul is smiling as it and the gentle place meet,
my worries gone with my fear.
This is the place, my being screams,
the place I could not live without.
My spirit dances and twirls with my dreams,
I am filled with not a single doubt.
I could roam the Earth for a lifetime,
I could spend my days searching far and wide.
But to miss this paradise would be the ultimate crime,
I may as well float through the universe untied.
I could live without money,
I could live without fame.
I could live without honey,
I could live without flame.
But rob me of my seashore,
where water and Earth collide,
And life would be one massive bore,
I may as well have died.
