The Season
The time has come. The seasons have changed and time is passing by painstakingly slow. It seems so long now since I've tasted the sweet freedom of summer. The bright sun no longer shines, for the constant clouds block out its purifying rays.
And the cold. Oh the cold! How I wish for even just a single moment of warmth! It seems now that every day I get so close to reigniting my inner flames, just to find that I am missing the tools needed to every time.
Every morning it seems as though spring has come again, yet as the day passes by it becomes more and more apparent that this winter is here to stay. What is wrong with me? Why can't I move on to warmth, to trust, to love again. I don't understand why I am stuck here. I want to move on.
So much trauma has occurred this season and I no longer wish to bear the burdens. You do not either. You wish to move on as well, but not in the way that I desire to. But why? What is the reason? Am I no longer good enough for you? Do you wish to watch my world burn and me with it?
I knew this day would come. I have been expecting it. What really scares me is that this season is far from over. There is much left and the worst has not yet come. I am afraid. Why do you wish for me to be this way?
Madness. That is what this is. I am slipping away and yet you refuse to pull me back. I am dying. This is not living. I do not understand why I would be put through this.
This season is a prison! I want to leave. Please, I beg you to end this nightmare! Just take back the pain that you have caused me. It should not be mine to bear.
No! You have let me fall! I am spiraling deeper and deeper into this abyss of darkness I have been trying to claw my way out of. But you knew of this all winter. Why would you betray me in the hour of my greatest need.
I know that this is simply a season and that it shall pass as many have told me, but what I don't know is if I shall be here to witness it.
