Seasonal Dreams

Found you in Summer, wild blue nights

Beaming blunt attitude, cute little tights.

Your strange little friend, didn’t even exist,

All eyes on you, couldn’t be missed.

Pretend the friend, but knew from the start

Against protocol, went with my heart.

And one night, out of nowhere,

You sent me your voice, all truth no dare,

No doubt amidst me, in the warm night air.

Used to lay inside your bed,

Distant dreams inside my head.

Smoke would talk, curtains drawn

Absent thoughts, words gone.

Didn’t know why, didn’t much care

Streaming colors through your hair.

Your stare said more, than any cliché

Your skin was winter, on the coldest day.

You wanted more, too blind to see

Doubt and regrets, now paying the fee.

And when the day came, you thought it wouldn’t work,

You laid it all out, for me, the jerk.

You said no, and I asked why,

Returned a gaze, no reply.

We had our fun, may never return,

But I can’t forget, sweet silver burn.
