Seasons
In the spring, you walked into my life and changed it.
Talking to a boy like you everyday was perfect.
Laugher, smiles, and feelings were shared.
My friends loved you for making me happy,
But in the end, you scarred me,
And you left your knife in my back.
In the summer, you were entirely absent.
You went from being everything to nothing in an instant.
Thinking about you everyday was killing me,
And I wondered if it was killing you too.
It was excruciating, the way I missed you,
And I was waiting for you to miss me too.
Then it was autumn, and I finally heard from you.
Talking to me like you never knew me only hurt me even more.
We were strangers again, who didn’t know how to act.
I could never look at you the same.
Finally, winter came.
You talked to me like you did in the spring.
You told me you loved me, out of the blue.
I couldn’t love you anymore.
Seasons came and went,
Just like you did.
