Seasons of Love

Loving you

is living in a place

where the four seasons

flourish in their time.

Refreshing.

The first dive

into an ice-cold pool

under a summer sun.

Comforting.

A mug of apple cider

and a warm embrace

on a windy fall day.

Exciting

Building snow forts

and sledding with friends

on a frosty winter day.\

Reassuring

The winter's frost melting

and life returning to the land

in the light of a spring sun.

I fear though.

For you, loving me

is trying to have

summer and winter together.

Impossible.

A sudden storm in Lubbock

causing feet of snow

under a hot, summer's sun.
