For a second

For a second, pay attention

I can tell you that life is hard and easy

I can tell you stories about pain and happiness

I can tell you that these things exist in the same place

But would you believe me?

For a second, think about it

There is a tunnel; it isn't death or destruction

It's fear

Fear that eats everyone, including me, alive

And I can tell you that it's true

For a second, listen to me

I'm not going to say please

I'm not going to beg for an ear

Fear can hold you back

Just as it does me

For a second, believe me

A comfort zone is a cage, a bad place to be

A life in fear is just as horrible

But a little fear makes you strong

Yet a lot of fear makes you terrified

For a second, take my advice

I don't want my fear to conquer me

I want to show the world how amazing I can be

So don't let it hurt you

You're wonderful and the world deserves to see you too.
