Second Amendment Blues

The Second Amendment … a

Once great notion, has gone wrong.

Written in earnest so all men can be free,

A slippery slope it has turned out to be.

Now don’t get me wrong, we should all have a gun,

And shoot it for sport, protection and fun.

Oh! … But there is a shooter in the square,

Hope your not there.

The man’s insane, got a gun built for war,

What’s wrong with this picture?

It’s not right for sure.

Lead flies like bees at a hive,

All sanity is gone and the moment is mad.

Blood pools … and arguments wear on.

Politics tilted right, "take away our guns and freedom is dead."

Greased with blood,

Persuasions sway like willows in the wind,

More bullets more blood, who is right,

And when will it end?

America’s freedom was won at the point of a gun.

Cap and ball it was, oh how far we have come.

But guns built for war just to kill men,

Loose on our streets … now this must end.

Argued in the press, and at the highest of halls,

Lobbyists soar, and “we the people,” continue to fall.

Then there are some who say,

“Go buy a gun, there’s not much else you can do.”

This wisdom is simple … the NRA

Wants you to think it is true.

Here in the home of the free and land of the brave,

You got to be brave, if you want to live free …

But really, is this,

The way we want it to be?

So shout it into the streets,

On this the left is right.

Over guns of war,

There must now be a great fight.

End.
