Second Chances

A girl sits in her room staring blankly at her walls

Wondering when she will escape

She holds the daggered words in her hands close to her wrists

She wonders why she bothers with life

TICK TOCK TICK TOCK The clock goes by

Painful memories flood her mind and soul telling her her true destiny at this moment

"Stay with us" "Care for us"

The purpose of her life is NOT herself, its the people who need her the most

She thows these words in the trash and stands in the mirror

Looking at the reflection she simply says,

"I can do this"

Though she may face mental and physical tourture from strangers,

She realizes that she would do ANYTHING to take away this shared pain from others

Suffering her own happiness just to see someone SURVIVE and stand on their own two feet again

Pain is imminent, but it is not forever.

Pain can be endured by all

But some face the most violent that they cannot stand on that edge anymore.

It takes only one person to save another.

Only one person to pull them away from the edge and allow them to see the rainbow across the horizon

Only people like me.
