Second Place
Second place
I've been preparing for this day like girls preparing for a pageant
In the gym, drenched in sweat from practice
Tomorrow is the day
The day of my first competition
As the sun rises I can feel the butterflies in my stomach from the nerves
I'm as nervous as a sinner in church
As I arrive I see all the higher belts and freak out even more
All of a sudden doubt enters my mind
What if I'm not good enough
What if I break my leg
Ahhhhhhhhh
I start to practice as if my life depended on it
The security waves at everyone to come inside to begin the fights
I enter
everyone cheering for their children
People shifting from side to side nervous,
trying to create a strategy
When my name is called I approach my opponent
Bow
Shake Hands
Begin
Beep !!
The timer starts
I begin to bounce around my opponent trying to see the best place to attack
My leg immediately reacts to an opening in his chest and does a roundhouse kick
He attacks with his kicks endlessly
I try to catch up but the hits ate too hard to block
As I am being attacked I aim for a head kick
suddenly my leg is a plane in the sky aiming for his head
I land the kick perfectly but it's too late
Stop
The fight is over
I'm Second place
