A Secret

It starts in the midst of your heart Wanting to come out But your heart is a prison keeping it locked up It's knocking on the walls of your heart But you keep it in because it's a secret It roams in the midst of your heart Trying to find an exit But you don't want anyone to know It's running on the floors of your heart But you keep it in because it's a secret It spreads in the midst of your heart Trying to find room to fit But you try so hard to keep it suppressed It's painting the inside of your heart But you keep it in because it's a secret This secret consumes the midst of your heart Getting ready to burst at any moment But you try not to let this bomb explode This secret takes over, leaking out on the edges of your heart like thorns piercing your skin. But you keep it in Because it's a secret.
