The Secret Assumption

He smiles but I can tell it is forged

I can see the empitness behind those eyes

Trying to mimic the happiness we once adored

But I don't smile, no feeling for me to hide

Instead I wear my heart on my sleeve

Wondering why he feels the need to play this game

why he feels the need to stay when his desire is to leave

Secretly hiding his thoughts, hoping i feel the same

So I wait to see what his next move is

Studying him as if he were a school project

Documenting his slightest changes

Watching as his manhood morphs from soft to erect

Hypothesising that he will surcome to his passions

I can't stand to complete my experiment

And to my surprise he exhorts a different reaction

He walks away, manhood hard but still content

Explaining himself to this woman as if he's too good for her

My eyes immediately fill with tears of digust

He is declairing his love for his wife and no neeed for another

But I have already sinned, given into my lust

Now the tables have turned and I appear to be the crook

My assumptions lead me astray and into spite

But as long as he doesn't know, everything will be alright.
