the secret of life

let me spill my secrets,

let me spill my lore.

for i have done this many a time before.

maybe a few will listen,

or all will turn their heads,

but soon enough, all my words will have bled.

do not be discouraged young child,

do not live in fear.

for my life has been toasted to sorrow

by an ice-cold beer.

although i have never drank,

or willed myself into another's bed,

i have lived a life where i constantly bled.

no i have never drawn blood,

from beneath my skin,

but i have starved myself quite thin.

i have welcomed sorrow

from cradle to grave.

even though i am not considered quite brave.

so let me spill my secrets,

let me spill my lore.

life is extraordinarily precious,

even if i have never wanted to life it before.
