Secret Souls
Tired of hiding her secret,
she could no longer keep it.
She wanted to tell a soul,
but when she did the world grew cold...
Now she walks alone,
people avoiding her like a hazard zone.
At school, girls laugh,
guys tease her after class.
She was walking home from school one day,
when a group of guys took her and had their way.
When she went to church, the priest said to her,
"You're a sinner playing with the Devil's fire."
She was crying in the restroom,
when a group of came, becoming her doom.
When they left her bruised on the bathroom floor,
she said to herself, "I can't take it anymore!"
She wrote her last letter at home that night,
the paper soaked with tears in a dim lit light.
Miserable and tortured,
she went to the basement and got a metal cord.
No one heard the last thing she said,
and now her body swings, cold and dead.
When the news came out,
people said they were only joking.
But because of them a life was taken.
And a guy said, "Just because she liked the same sex,
doesn't mean you should disrespect."
For he knew exactly how she felt,
only his little 'secret' hadn't been out yet...
