Secrets She Carries
To the pavement there falls,
one single drop,
the after effect of love,
that cannot be stopped.
The strength of that pain,
hidden in those amber eyes,
always churning and burning,
and clouding the skies.
The sadness is hidden,
in her ruby red smile,
a facade that's almost natural,
walls that bring on denial.
but when denial finally crumbles,
and the facade is shed,
when sadness shows through,
all of that ruby red.
Then the amber eyes cry,
for the love that's been spent
ripped jeans in the dirt,
golden hair in the wind.
After moments of trying,
to release all that pain,
the facade resurfaces,
for it still remains.
The ruby red smile,
is painted back on,
she brushes dirt off her jeans,
and keeps walking along.
Because life keeps on going,
even if not accepted,
and the safest way to do it,
is simply to live it.
