Security blanket

You are my safety net

My security blanket

you make me and my heart feel

protected and secure.

You generate a snug fire

at the bottom of my stomach:

it is not raging or out of control

but just enough to be happy.

I know what it is like to have a

fire of feelings,

consuming and destroying everything.

I have been burnt before.

But you accept me for who I am.

You are consistent and reliable.

Strong enough to pick up my broken pieces

and help me help myself put them back together

you are not my whole world and

my world does not fall apart without you.

We are independent people who choose to be together.

We are healthy.

I love you

But its too soon to tell you.

And i want to do this right.

I don't want to rush.

I want to be careful
