A Sedative Murderer

They seek a hero in disguise,
An opioid to calm their mind,
But in its grasp, their spirit dies ,
left their dreams and hopes behind .

It makes them comfort, soft and sweet,
Yet it sharpens a blade under its grace ,
What dulls their pain makes life deplete ,
A silent rapist they can’t outpace.

But strength remains when truth is found,
Beyond the dark, they revive once more,
No need for poisons to confound,
Real courage leads soul to restore.
