See Beyond
Judgements fly like a daggers
To the wounded heart
A demoralizing situation
Turns you into public ridicule
Living on the streets is not easy
and most think its self inflicted but
Imagine an injury
an accident
something caused by wrong movement
miscalculation
or overcompensation
Injury, leads to a disgruntled family
to a lost home
to a life left on the streets
My father left,
His injuries were not justified
Took a wrong step
And the world collapsed
Everything happened quickly then
lost our house
lost our money
lost our dignity
Then we are on the streets
where dignity is not redeemable
where people don't believe
That its not your fault
Change,
we all say we want it
but are to afraid to get it
we judge too quickly in fear of knowing the truth
We forget those who need us
because insecurities bind us
Compassion weakens us
and the world doesn't need us
Rise up
against the world
against preconceived notions
Make judgements based upon experience
Not societies standards
Renew your heart,
make a change
one person and smile
could mean the world.
