SEE ME

You see me
Barely five feet tall
Dark frizz sticks on my head
A bridge connects my brows
Fuzz covers my breasts
Hairs line the rolls of my stomach
And bristles hide in my armpits

To you
I am an ugly woman
My hair does not cover my breasts
Like a gentle waterfall
My body is not smooth
Like enveloping satin
My legs are not long
Like the ones you lust for

Yet you do not see
My dark eyes
Richer
Than chocolate
Warm
Like cinnamon
Framed by thousands
Of long lashes
Darker than midnight
Look at them in the sun!
Brighter than amber
Pure shades of honey
And see how they shine
Brighter than any star
In the night

You yearn to drown
In eyes that are
The color of the sea

Yet the eyes you say
Are the colors of waste
Are the sunlight in the forest
That whispers
The world to lifeKiss my lips
And taste
The life
Stirring within
And know
I am a beautiful woman
