A seedling in my Garden

You were a seedling I planted in my garden, I loved you! Pardon,? Yes, I 'loved ' you! Eight years ago when I planted you there, I knew you would stay for too long, I nurtured you with love and care. I remember how I used to stare at you, Adoring each and every moment you grew. Protecting your twig, With a shelter of plastic, I forgot, That it was too weak to hinder you, From leaving my sight and meeting new winds. Remember the night? When I stood up awake, Protecting you from the fierce storm. The rains had destroyed all your might. But I helped you regrow. And not just that night, but all the dark, Stormy times mark my affection on your tough bark. When the sun shined too bright, And it withered your leaves, the fierce sunlight. I stood all day burning my skin, to water you. And your leaves provided me the best shelter, They got greener as you grew. While you were my favourite, I let other seedlings grow too. They added to the fulfilment of my garden, But I always loved you. As you grew older then, I could not reach your branches anymore, They were too high to come down to me. But as your branches continued to grow, They destroyed all the other plants in my garden. Yes, I loved you the most, But you cannot grow in my barren land, There is no silt to nourish you, just bleak sand. Ah! But don't worry, I love you enough, To not destroy the tree I nurtured. Yes you're going away from me, But your roots have already spread to a new garden, Yes I'm seeing the roots on my side getting destroyed, And it breaks my heart more than the pain your, Withered leaves feel.
