Seeds

Back in the day, 67 years of love wasnt long enough

But in 2017, 67 days of love is way too rough

What happened with love is its taken for granted

Instead of strong morals of the heart, a new seed has been planted

A dark seed that plans to grow in the most selfish way

Where the heart once a fortress became a game to play

The seed says "lie to them and make them insecure"

So instead of a journey, love became a tour

Searching for greener grass became the new realistic

Now today single parents are a rising statistic

What happened to the seed when one partner was enough?

The seed that made you keep going even if the going was tough?

The seed that said "Hey, this love here is all about teamwork"

Because everyone knew you needed it to make the dreamwork

Is it because now our only concerns are with ourselves?

Or is it because we mostly lust for what is below someones belt?

"Because I Love You" means more than 4 words

So if you do speak them, its about more than being heard

Integrity, honor, trust is what relationships lack and need today

So lets uproot the bad tree, and imprint the good seed like the old days

Because one day someone will view your heart as a game

And you will think its real, when your really being played

But why go that route when you know what is right

You know what you want and you know what you like

Treat your partner like a King or a Queen

Because putting one another first makes a true team

Respect each other, be honest, and for your love please fight

Because you never know whos dark seed you can bring to the light
