Seeing

I stop to listen and hear them calling my name
Not saying it but reaching out for me
I close my eyes and they are there
They begin casting my name
Scolding me
Condemning me
Reminding me of my worth
Nothing
I plead for them to stop
They show no mercy
I open my eyes to reality
I still see them
But as they really are
They are the ones who care
When I close my eyes and see them
I am looking at myself
As I really am
