The Seemingly Endless

We wait for equal rights to all, That day could never be too late. We always rise before we fall, And wait for what should be our fate. We walk to the back every day, Never daring to take their place. There is nothing that we could say, That would make them show us a little grace. We would do anything for a drink, But we are forced to go another way. Don’t they even stop and think, That maybe there’s a different way? All at once, it becomes clear. Change needs to come, There can be no more fear. This was finally accomplished by some. Not all have changed, But we now have a fighting chance. Things have been rearranged, And now we can finally advance.
