seen not Heard

She is unable to face her deepest fear.

She sucks it in, she keeps it inside.

"Turn to the side and disappear".

In Spring she could feel their eyes leer,

and chose to ignore without reply.

She is unable to face her deepest fear

At the beach they ridiculed her bosom and rear;

She refused any food, lying, she sighed.

"Turn to the side and disappear".

He came along sweetly and brought her cheer.

She hoped one day to become his bride.

She is unable to face her deepest fear.

Eventually, he learned to steer clear.

 Only snowflakes kissed her plump cheeks as she cried,

"Turn to the side and disappear".

As we trudge along the street, chins down, and dry a tear,

I hunger for a life of heads held up with pride.

She is unable to face her deepest fear.

Turn to the side and disappear
