Seething Carcass

Fighting malice towards the light

Brought on by the color of my core

Wasting away, I am enticed to ponder

About the futile aims of my defense

I cannot spend the time to think

Or the enemy will drag me back

A place still coated about me

As I constantly crawl away

Some say the legendary hellfire,

Burning the creatures born of hatred and lust,

Are rays of celestial love, shining from heaven,

Mutilating the ones who gave in to think

About the futility of escape

I will not be one who remains

Trapped by the first demons they encountered

If not a King crowned in victorious glory,

A fabled warrior,

Whose seething carcass lies atop

A mountainous pile of smoldering carrion

Forever.
