Segregated

Long ago people were separated because of their color
Nothing was right
Everything was a fight

The water fountains were separated with a sign
one for blacks, and one for whites
The whites fountain was big, and the blacks was small
I wish they never had this law.

In this time nothing was fair,
but none of the white people seemed to care.
Blacks marched through the streets trying to claim their rights
til finally- everybody stopped their fights-
Blacks and whites were together as one.

They went to school together and played.
People shared and cared, but never betrayed
The Civil Rights Movement made things right
so we could have friends either black or white.
