Self
Self myself yourself oneself
Self is present in all that we do
Self is how you look at yourself
Self is the person staring back at you in the mirror
Self is the moments that we piece together to make a life
We are born we live and we die
It is simple but yet it is beyond comprehensible
You make yourself, you are the creator of your story
You are placed on this earth for a purpose
The purpose that flows within you waiting to escape
But to escape is to find oneself
It is what is on the inside
Yet society does not care
It does not care about the inside of you
Society sees the outside
Society sees the cracks in the mirror
The cracks in the face staring back at you
Society will try and break you
Society does not care
Society chooses to conform you to its standards
Society turns you away if you are not like it
Society says you are cog in the machine
A mere piece to the puzzle
You are not what society says you are
You are you
You will pick up the pieces of the broken mirror
You will find a way
No matter the cost
You will put the pieces back together
Your life is not ruled by society
You make the self you want to be
You uphold your purpose
You are meant to be here
What is on the inside is what matters
You are not an empty vase easily broken
You do not let society define you
You are you
And you always will be
