Self-adoration

1 Timothy 6:6

Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.

 Self ... without godliness

Self-satisfaction ... grows into self-adoration

for what you accomplish although nothing is there.

Self-admiration ... will help self-justification

that all you do for self ... is not good for you and me.

It grows and expands indifference

in the landscape that you’re painting

in color tones that are bleak and pale

in your longing to be free.

Later you’ll stretch and frame it

to hang on the wall of your heart’s desire

to brighten up the loneliness

that screams in a silent plea.
