self aware

We strive for mass adoration

to be like a god

worshiped, memorialized, even remembered for

all of time

We do it for ourselves

not remembering that

the gods faithfully gave their life to the people

they focused on creating the best for society

but what do We do?

We want more

more fame

more followers

more fortune

but fail to realize the thing that We lack is

fortitude

the ability to do right no matter what

We can't do it

We've become corrupt like society

We say that we'll be the ones to change societal norms

but really

it's society that will change Us
