Self Esteem

As I look in the mirror,

I'm not satisfied with who I see,

I see a girl that is unsure of herself,

She doesn't know who she is,

She allows others to define her,

I see a body that isn't on the TV screen,

Hair that's as low as her self esteem,

With a skin tone as dark as night,

Everyone seems to dislike it when she is in sight,

Who is this girl that I see?

It can't be me,

But it is,

How can I somehow erase this,

I just want happiness,

Does it still exist?

It's a beautiful poem, it reminds me of myself.
