Self-imposed

Matthew 23:28

28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Living my own way

Cut “your” gospel pilgrim and fit it into place

Measure it exactly and make it a little larger

Don’t worry about the fit ... you can adjust it later

As a matter of flatly, it probably stretches much farther

Put it down and check it ... it does not seem to fit

Pull it up and cut some more ... you can make it work

I guess you did not get it ... it looks like the pits

I’m glad it’s on the floor ... I feel like a jerk

I’ll patch it here and there and buy me a throw-rug

I planned that anyway in the back of my mind

The scraps I discard so I’m acting like a thug

To get my own way stumbling around like I’m blind
