Self-Love

When I was nine years old I felt worthless

I looked at other kids my age and felt so isolated

I would sneer at myself in the mirror, disgusted with what I saw

I wished I looked like the other children, because maybe then I wouldn't be laughed at

When I was fourteen, I was at an all time low

I never smiled, my depression was consuming me

I lost friends and tried to push myself away from my family.

I was in the worst place of my life

Now at seventeen, I look back at how I felt

I now see my flaws as strengths

I have made more friends, and my relationship with my family is as strong as ever

Learning that being different is okay has changed my world view

I have come to see myself as a beautiful person, even with all of my imperfections

Loving myself is the best decision I have ever made
