Self Love Sonnet

Maybe something good will come from all this

Heavy bleeding out of my aching soul.

I’ve lost myself in my mind’s dark abyss

And detached myself from feeling whole.

Maybe I’ll suffocate under my pillow

And wake up reborn, free from the feeling

Of always breaking myself down low,

Constantly searching for some type of healing.

Maybe new skin will grow over these cuts and

Be thicker than the thin layer before.

Blood will rush in, like waves towards the sand,

Bringing happiness and love to my core.

Sometimes it takes great struggle to find

Self love, self worth, pure joy, and peace of mind.
